Christus, die Gnadensonne, Ein Weihnachtsgedicht

Christus, die Gnadensonne

In der heiligen Nacht,

die Gnadensonne

voll Freud und Wonne,

vertreibt die Finsterniss

und macht

einen Gnadentag.

Und im Gnadenhimmel

ohn‘ Hinderniss

strahlt der liebe Gott

der űber uns wacht.

  1. hi there….trying to track down a little saying my parents use to have the children say in German while kneeling in front of the Christams tree before we could open our presents. It was quite brief…maybe five or six lines…kind of like a thank you for what we were receiving…ended with the child saying his name and that he would always behave himself….any suggestions or ideas?

    thanks, Merry Christams

  2. Dear G Gord,

I have never heard of a prayer like that and it could well be unique to your family tradition.

At the end, saying your name could be: ich heisse______ or mein Name ist _________and ich will immer artig sein or perhaps, ich will immer brav sein. This may jog your memory, because I would need more to go on in order to search for this prayer further.

    I hope this helps.
